Entry Requirements

General information, rules and regulations for award submissions.

TROUBLESHOOTING: To correct the following error on your submission "One or more sections contain more than the maximum allowed word count. Please correct and resubmit." Please do the following: identify the section that you have an error in. Delete the section content and re-paste using the PLAINTEXT PASTER (the clipboard with the letter "T"). This should clear out any extra hidden formatting seen as word count error. 

Awards submission timeline: Award submission will be accepted from February 8 - May 20, 2011 (5:00pm Hawaii Time).

Eligibility: Chapter and Individual Awards - Open to all NACE chartered chapters and members in good standing and are eligible to enter event(s) that took place during the calendar year 2010 (unless otherwise noted in the awards criteria for which you are submitting); NACE student or pilot chapters are not eligible, except in the case where a specific category is available (such as Student Member of the Year). Industry Awards - Open to the public (ANY catering and event industry professional, NACE members and non-members that meet the requirements of the awards criteria for which you are submitting). All eligible entries must represent event(s) that took place during the calendar year 2010.

Entry Fees: Chapters and Individual entries are complimentary. Industry entries are subject to a $95 entry fee (per person, per award). Team categories will require separate entry fee and submission for the same award by each person.

How To Enter: The nominating party must complete an online nomination form along with any entry materials and the entry fee for each submission. Team categories will require separate entry fee and submission for the same award by each person.

Judging: The entries in any event category will be judged by a panel to include a minimum of three of the following professionals as appointed by the NACE National President and may include: National President, Immediate Past President, industry and culinary professionals, National Board members, past National Board members and National Committee Members. The NACE Awards Committee reserves the right to have submissions pre-judged prior to the Experience!™ Conference. NACE reserves the right to withhold the presentation of an award in any category if a category does not receive at least three entries from three different eligible nominators or should there be no entries received that meet the appropriate criteria and scoring guidelines.

Disqualification: Entries will be disqualified if they are incomplete or do not conform to the rules and requirements. Make sure you carefully read the entry instructions on the nomination form and double-check your entry before it is submitted to make sure it conforms to the stated entry criteria. Disqualified entries will not be returned.

Award Presentations:The awards will be presented during the 2011 Experience!™ conference.

Things you need to know:

  • Winning entries and all submission content are the property of NACE. Photographs and materials in the entry will be used by NACE for promotional and other purposes.
  • NACE reserves the right to withhold the presentation of an award in any category if a category does not receive at least three eligible entries that meet scoring guidelines (a minimum of 70 points). Judging will take place in advance of the conference, by a panel of qualified judges appointed by the National Awards Committee Chair.
  • Each entry and winner will be presented during the Awards gala at the 2011 Experience! conference.

Technical information:

  • Photographs MUST have a resolution of 300dpi or greater.
  • File requirements: 20 MB upload limit.
  • IMPORTANT: To avoid any loss in data it is HIGHLY recommended that you create your submission in a word processing document and save it to your computer. You can then copy and paste each section into the appropriate section online. When pasting from word, you must use the word paster icon. In the editor, there is an icon in the top row, 5th from the right, that looks like a clipboard with the letter "w" in it. Click on the icon, then paste the word content. If that does not work or if your word count exceeds, paste using the plaintext paster (the icon to the left of the word paster) and format it within the editor.
  • Awards with required fields must have content either uploaded/attached or entered into the field in order to submit. Please see the Step-by-Step Directions above for more details on how to make changes to your awards entries.
